It’s been a wonderful week so far! The weather’s been warm and although it hasn’t been altogether dry, it’s pleasant to be outside. We’ve gone for walks and went out to mill lumber with Cam (more on that later). Inside we’ve been felting, drawing and reading.
The best part about this week was receiving four packages in the mail! Who doesn’t like to get mail? Thanks to Lily’s school visa finally getting to us, we were able to do some spending.
We bought a few books, including finally buying a mushroom field guide to help us put names to all the mushrooms we come across.
We bought the Quadrilla rail set to go with the rest of our marble run. I’ve enjoyed watching Lily create her own working runs and coming up with strategies to help Leif be included in ways that don’t interfere with her creations. It’s always good to see solutions that work for everyone.
We bought another selection of wool felt, kite paper, tissue paper and other supplies from Natalie at Bear Dance Crafts.
Check out the cool covered enamel chamber pot I got for our cabin. Deirdre’s also now selling the Wildcraft game I blogged about a while back.
It’s been busy going through and playing with all our new things. I’d say it feels like Christmas, that is if we celebrated the holiday. To keep us well fed during all this play, this week I’m making:
- Lemon Lentil Soup
- Butternut Squash Gnocchi
- Roasted Vegetables with Miso Gravy
- Spicy Black Eyed Pea with Yam Soup (thanks to Dayna at Vegan Visitor)
- Hearty Ceasar Salad
- Caramelised Onion and Sauted Spinach Pizza with Peanut Sauce
I’m also hoping to get some better pictures for these recipes
- Pumpkin Muffins with millet, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg
- Apple Pancake Perfection
- Walnut Sugar Cookies (again from Dayna at Vegan Visitor)
Sounds like you guys have been having a great time! Meredith just got the Quadrilla Twist & Rail set for Christmas and loves it. I can’t wait until she starts being able to build her own. I see you guys have the musical set. I think that might be the next one we get for her.
Sounds like a nice week:) It’s great to come here for food inspiration! I enjoyed making the lemon lentil soup this week. We also made one of your biscuit recipes today. Yum!
Get fun getting new things… so much inspirations to create!
Your pot looks awesome! :)
