After we participated in the Art Bin Project the other day we stopped by Kool and Child and made our first purchase with our Wondertree Self Design credit card. Lily has had an interest in the human body for some time. If you know us irl you may have been lectured on the human heart and why blood is red and blue depending on where it’s moving in the body. I think the interest grew when she reads books that show pictures of the inside and outside of our bodies. She has picture encyclopaedias and of course the Everyone Poops series really does spark questions. There are constant questions like: “How do muscles work, dad?” and “How do your fingers bend?”.

This is the kit we bought:

Kids can enter the twisted world of the human body with this hands-on kit and tour guide! They’ll explore the complex inner workings of the human body and literally see how it all works!Kit includes:

  • 12-inch plastic human body model
  • nine removable squishy vital organs
  • skeletal, vascular and muscular systems
  • forceps and tweezers
  • tray to organize your organs
  • 32-page fully illustrated color book
Kinda neat. She’s really enjoying exploring and asking questions. As I type Lily’s eating pancakes and using the forceps to pull out the diaphragm and ask her dad what it is and how it works.

  1. That looks fabulous. I love unschooling!

I wanted to reply to you regarding the Little Bear books but of course blogger makes this next to impossible… anyway, yes, the movies are based on the book and stay true to the spirit of the book, which is so refreshing. There are a couple of comments back at my original post if you want to read more. Sorry to clog up your post with my reply!
