What a fantastic skirt pattern. I made this skirt while Leif was sleeping yesterday afternoon. Lily picked the fabric from my small stash and I realised right before sewing the waist that the fabric was kinda sew-through so I went rummaging through my fabric and found a white cotton for a liner.
I think it turned out so well despite my sewing the hem of the liner backwards. Ah well, it adds a bit of character to the skirt, right?
I totally want to give credit to the person that pointed out this great pattern to me but for the life of me now I can’t remember who it was! Speak up if it was you, I’d love to say thank you!
I can’t get to the pattern by your hyperlink. What’s the url? I would love to make one for my sister’s daughter….yours turned out beautifully!
Just fixed the link!
Oh, it turned out really sweet. That fabric is one I’d expect her to pick out – does she favor purple?
I just stuck pictures of the skirts I made from this pattern up on my other blog – the farming one. Ainsley’s was purple also!
This is going to be my go-to skirt pattern, now – so fast. Have you ever worked with elastic thread? In Heather Ross’ book, Weekend Sewing, she has a fantastic faux-smocked dress pattern that is almost as fast and turns out so darling.
Oh so sweet. Now I just need a little girl so I can make one!
Just found your blog and love your pictures – they tell such a story. I also feel strongly – as you do – about how we raise our children, what experiences we give them, and how we live upon this earth. It’s great to find you, and I look forward to future posts!
Aww so very sweet : )
Great skirt. I wondered if this was the skirt you linked to, glad to see my instinct was correct.
The zig zag detail is my style too. I like the fun factor!
