It seems I’m not the only one out there who’s under the weather. I have an almost raw throat and pressure in my sinuses this morning and yet it’s SO beautiful outside. I hate being stuck inside. Can I say that again? I hate being stuck inside.

Is there any truth to not going out when you’re sick or is this just a matter of consequence in not feeling like going out when under the weather. In which case, is it fine (and maybe even a good idea?) to go out when you really want to, even if you’re sneezing and almost phlegmy?

Poor Lily is also feeling tough these days. She looked especially pathetic when we went to the Maple Sugar Festival this last weekend where I snapped a picture:

I need to move my body. It’s feeling soft and under worked! I need at least a walk. Would love a run. A ride even better. Maybe we’ll walk down to the library and return some books. A nice slow we’re-not-actually-going-anywhere walk.

Here’s a couple pictures from a recent walk in the Morrell Nature Sanctuary. One of my favourite places to walk nearby.

Kale and Lily shadowed us just off the path almost the whole way. They occasionally made cougar and bear noises or found awesome hideouts behind house sized rock crops and under the cool canopy of big sweeping branches from Cedar trees. Cops and Robbers was played and only Kale walked away with dry gumbooted feet when he, Lily and Cam stepped into a little creek getting back onto the pathway.

And then my camera ran out of batteries.

  1. Morrell… that was a favourite place for me too. I’ve introduced it to every visiting nature nut when I was in Nanaimo. What a great place to vvisit when you’re under the weather – germs don’t have a chance out there. And thanks for the reminder about Cabana Sucre. I haven’t been to one in 3 years – I’ve never heard about one here.

    Get well soon.

    Morrell Sanctuary looks great!

I hope you feel better soon, and Lily too. I’m just now returning to the land of the living.

I hate being stuck inside too and for me it all depends – usually getting outside and getting some exercise and fresh air helps, but when i get this deep lung thing that I have now cool air makes me cough and cough. Very frustrating!! Of course, dry indoor air makes it worse too so ???
