On Tuesday Kim Slater is completing her 1170 km running journey from the BC/Alberta border to Prince Rupert. She’s running along the highway through the communities along the Northern Gateway Enbridge pipeline’s proposed route. Along the way she’s sparked many conversations about the tar sands and clean energy alternatives. Kim’s support vehicle runs on veggie oil and is outfitted with solar panels.

We’re planning to run Kim into town and host a reception for her afterwards where we can listen to her speak. Chef James King will be on hand making some incredible food and Transition Prince Rupert has offered to come and talk a bit about what they’re up to.
