Are you?
“On January 9th 2012 Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources, Joe Oliver, released an open letter to Canadians in which he stated that anyone who speaks out against the Enbridge Northern Gateway pipeline project is a “radical” and has a “radical ideological agenda”. In his letter he implied that such radicals are also opposed to all mining, forestry, oil and gas and hydro-electric development in Canada.”
If you are Canadian and a so called radical, please take a moment to go to this website: http://iamaradical.ca/ and send a quick letter to our government to let them know. It really does just take a minute of your time!
Lily, Leif and I are in that top photo, not that you can see us. It was taken last weekend in Prince Rupert where more than a 1000 people gathered to support the Gitga’at and their campaign to keep super tankers off our coast. We were proud to take part in this day long rally.
We say NO to enbridge oil!
I love you posting this stuff. I’ve always been amused at this “radical” label. What corperations do the planet is, in my eyes, way more radical than I have ever been. My go-slow approach, stepping quietly on the earth and respecting all those that live upon it and sharing many of my grandmother’s values I don’t see as radical.Rahter I see it as sensible, caring and respectful. What they call progress is radically full of greed, thoughtlessness and plan stupid.
I guess I’m a radical… and damn proud! We say no to enbridge to and I’m so happy that you had a chance to join in with the protest. That’s fantastic :) Wish I could have been there to!
Jacinda- we are definitely on the same page! xx
Awesome, Rosina! I hope you spread the word about this easy letter writing campaign to your “radical” friends!
thanks for the link – i will pop over there now and add my voice. i watched that first video a few days ago – made me cry. i wish i was near you and i would join you at these rallies!
A radical, that’s me. Wow this government frustrates me.
Thanks for that link…
