A few snap shots of our day today.
We walked 3 km to a local lake with friends. We had to bring our own wood to burn in the wood stove in the shelter down by the lake side. The wood we brought was fresh cut cedar and it smelt almost too good to burn.
We were prepared for cold wet weather but nature still tested our preparedness. It rained. It poured. The wind blew the rain sideways. It was almost hailing and we still had to walk 3 km out again.
The fire was wonderful and we cooked tofu dogs and sausages.
Both Lily and Leif had to play in the fire poking and throwing in sticks.
When we got home, we peeled off the rest of our wet gear and warm layers. It’s good to spend time with friends and good to be home to make supper together as a family.
Happy Love Day, everyone. I hope you all found many things to love about today. We can never have too many reminders.
