Paxye and family left this afternoon. It’s nuts that Vancouver is only thirty something kilometres away and yet it’s such a major production to get there. The ferries had a two sailing wait and you could only reserve tickets for the eleven at night ferry. She left around three and got on at almost six. How frustrating it could have been to wait. Thankfully the trip didn’t turn out to be too hard for Paxye. She walked around with the boys and took pictures and was able to hang out in the car without much incident until they boarded.

It’s bittersweet. The house is nice and quiet now that there isn’t five kids under six running about but it also seems a bit empty too. I really enjoyed Paxye’s company and her boys are so sweet. Simon left earlier and it became immediately apparent how successful he is at moderating the kids. It was also strange to be in the house with someone who was always aware of where the laundry was at and what needed to be done soon. I’m so used to handling that on my own.

Oddly enough after Paxye left we had some decent cool weather. The hot really did make doing things around here hard. In the last few days we really didn’t get up to all that much. I would have loved to cook and bake more than we were able to. What little we did just added to the heat of the house!

So Paxye is back to being without the internet for a couple more weeks. I’m looking forward to her being home to share some more photos and be available for our long phone chats. I’m hoping to get back over to the mainland before she heads out east again.

I promise to get caught up on all my email and facebook messages now that I’ll have a few more free minutes!

I have something for you at my blog, if you wouldn’t mind having a wee peek!

I’m so glad we were able to spend time together too. It was real nice. Actually it feels like it was too short so I hope it isn’t too long until we can see each other again. I’m going to try and take another trip over before she leaves.
