Got my hair cut today. Went in for a trim with my hair in a braid. The hairdresser was surprised at how much hair I had when the braid was taken out and insisted on layering it. I have no problem with this but I’m a bit worried about how much layering she did. She thought this cut would accentuate the natural waves in my hair. We’ll see what happens after I wash it a couple times!
Hey, we’re all wearing blue!
** eta. the after washed my hair picture taken Friday night:
You look fabulous!
Lovely! I bet it feels good too. I love that light fresh feeling of less hair.
Wow, your hair is long and I’m amazed at how different it looks with the new cut. I like it though! I just got mine chopped last week and I finally found someone who understands “I don’t do anything with my hair, heck, I don’t even use a brush most days”. It’s easy to manage and looks far better than the old grown out do. Hope you like your new style:)
Thanks girls!
I have to laugh Sophia because I said to her “I don’t do anything with my hair. I won’t blow dry it and I may not even brush it.” I usually just braid it after the shower.
So far this morning it’s okay. It’s so light I can’t get over it.
Wow, I love it. I say the same thing to my hairdressers, but often once they’re done they’ll say something like: “Now all you need to do is blow dry it in the mornings and it’ll look great!”
The sad part that I forgot to include is the lady I found is moving to Calgary as soon as she sells her house and then I’m going to be stuck. Argggh.. But even one good cut with someone who understands is better than the last dozen or so who haven’t. The key was calling around until I found someone who didn’t sound shocked when I said I wash with bs and lemon juice.
I looks so much better today now that it’s not so flashy. I really love it but I’m still waiting to see what it will look like after I wash it. I’m a bit scared since I like it so much today!
Lindsay- I HATE that. That doesn’t usually happen to me but I’m guessing it might have something to do with the way I look and my extreme NON-style. :D
Sophia- I always have anxiety when I see a new person to cut my hair. If this cut works out then I might only get it cut in Vancouver. She did such a precision job and worked around a cowlick and my fivehead. She was really nice even if she did lie to me and say I don’t look tired and she couldn’t see any grey hair. Um, fake, unfished for flattery isn’t necessary, thanks. She was also aghast that I don’t use shampoo but commented on how amazingly healthy my hair was before the wash. Maybe more fake flattery? Ha.
I love the cut! I hope it still works for you after a wash – that’s the real test of a hair cut, isn’t it?
It really is the test to wash it. I washed it today and it still looks awesome. I can tell that if I put something in it it would stick together into curls again (that actually sounds unpleasant!) but even without it my hair is wavy and nice.
This cut is so great because my hair is still long but keeping it down is easier with it being so light. I haven’t even thought about putting it in a ponytail.
I added an updated photo to this post.
Looks awesome! Your hair does grow fast!
The girls got their hair cut last week and K’s hair is short. Like mental patient short or I’m 4 and I cut my own hair so I have to get it fixed short (although she didn’t). I guess it’s a true pixie but whoa. I’m going to have to pay better attention next time to how much hair is getting cut off. L also got a pixie but it’s not as short as K’s.
You look great!
Thanks Katey- it’s all in the mantra to get it to grow! ;-)
I trim Lily’s hair a bit but I’d be afraid to do much more than that! That’s hilarious about how short K’s was! Ha.
Wow! it looks great!!!
I *almost* went to get my haircut… but then didn’t….
Maybe a weekend sometime soon when I get home and Simon can watch the kids…
I still love it after the wash!
I really love it too actually. I was thinking of writing the hairdresser a letter to let her know how happy I am!
I totally missed that you had updated this with a new photo… duh. It looks great! And funny, I had to call my hairdresser and let her know how happy I was with mine too!
