It’s been so busy here. Waking and heading over to friend’s for breakfast, straight to looking at houses, supper back at friends and back to the hotel late in the evening.

House hunting has been encouraging and not at the same time. On one hand I’m seeing some possibilities and on the other many of the houses for sale are real letdowns. There just aren’t a lot of houses for sale right now in our price range and I don’t blame possible sellers. It’s not the best time to sell. When we’re more clear about what we’re looking at I’ll share some listings and pictures of houses. Tomorrow we’re going for a couple second viewings. We’ll see….

Thanks to the late setting sun we’ve been having a great time though getting to know the area. (It isn’t dark until 10pm) It’s really beautiful up here and we’ve been having the best weather. Of course this isn’t typical weather for here so we’re not getting too used to it.

There’s the most amazing trail behind my friend’s house. When you’re in there you can’t tell that there are houses all around and that you’re in the middle of town! In fact a few of the house we’re looking at back onto this path. Prince Rupert has a ton of green belts and small pathways off the streets. This path follows a creek where we went for a walk.

Lots of big trees!

I was so upset to miss having my camera at the ready when a bald eagle flew down over the creek passing us at eye level only about 10 meters away! I hope the local residents don’t take for granted how many bald eagles there are to see flying near by. We’ve see quite a few flying not far above us!

Look at Lily zooming behind me.

Lily and Leif love to colour together.

The community came together and did a big trash pick up. All kinds of people showed up and a good time was had by all. We came by between looking at houses.

Leif trying to escape. Little did he know but he only needed to push the gate to open it.

Lily visiting with my friend’s baby. We were enjoying the sunshine but it could be too much for small babies.

Look what Lily found. Quartz rock with a pyrite crystal. There are a lot of neat rocks to find here.

    Just Beautiful !!

Hopefully you will find something soon on the house front… Can’t wait to talk to you and hear all about it!

  3. I’m pretty sure there’s only one park like what you describe. While waiting for connecting ferries, a friend and I came across that park and just loved it. Despite the rain, those big trees sucked up most of the moisture and we were able to stay dry. It was great! Hopefully you can find a home near there too.

Thanks for introducing us to babe – it must be so nice to get all this visiting time and have a place for the kids to roam when you’re not sleeping. I’m not a very big fan of hotels myself so we tend to seek out b&b’s, especially the guest house type ones.

Enjoy the rest of your stay and hopefully the second viewings will reveal a winner!

Those trees are AMAZING! I love big and old trees, love to think about what they have “seen” in their lifetime. I don’t think we have anything even close to that size though here in Ohio! Uh, oh about that little escape artist of yours, good luck with him. And that beautiful quartz and pyrite crystal….what a treasure.

sending good thoughts about the offer on the house!

  6. The pictures of the trees remind me so much of home!! (I grew up north of there in Ketchikan, Alaska)

Good luck finding your new home! :)
