I went into Oak Bay Bike Shop today with the hopes of finding some help making my bike, which is slightly too small for me fit a bit better. I’ve really enjoyed the Xtracycle and it’s been beauty comfortable to ride but there’s no getting around the small size of my bike. The seat is higher than my handlebars even though I have a higher stem on it. I can’t go much higher without also making me have to lean further away as well so I’m going to try new handle bars that look a little like this:

It’s going to be a different ride somewhat being more upright but glad to give it a go. My bike is officially not a mountain bike anymore so might as well face the facts and make it feel more of a commuter style. My next bike is going to be a road bike and then I’d love to get myself a bouncy bike for the superb mountain biking here. *bats eyes*

We road out to a friend’s house the other day (about 12 km) and it was interesting to feel a bit fatigued in my legs and yet surprisingly stronger already since consistently riding these days. I’m so impressed with how easily my body is getting back in the swing of things.

Makes me want to build a new bouldering wall! I very much miss climbing but have dread getting back into it. At the very least I’d like to get my campus board back up. I’m going to get on that and I’ll get some pictures up. I might even browse some catalogues for climbing holds……

You’ll be happy when it fits – and as you get fitter ;)

You’re so right. I’m really looking forward to riding more and more. Once I have a double kid’s seat on the back I’ll be a lot more free…. Just waiting for those snap bolts to arrive!

Oh Kris and I love climbing. We’ve actually been looking at bouldering places around here recently. Would love to see pictures if you get yours up!

Did you see pictures of our old bouldering wall when you were here? The person that bought our home wanted it included in the sale of the house and we didn’t have anywhere really to store it so we sadly said good bye to it. It was an awesome set up with two different pitched walls (moderate and steeply overhung), a corner and a roof traverse.

Speaking of bouldering walls – have we ever sent pictures? I’m afraid we may not have because it got finished right before summer and we were both hurt so it hasn’t had much use yet:( That will change.
