Lights

I found these rainbow indoor/outdoor led lights at my local Green Store here in Nanaimo and now we have a pretty rainbow in our living room! Lily has spent an awful lot of time turning on and off the light switch testing out the look. I like it as much as she does. Well not the flick on and off of the switch but…

I also bought a case of hemp milk at the Green Store for $20 so I’m happy about that. I’ve had hemp milk before and did not like it at all, however this brand is very delicious. It’s cheaper than rice milk at the moment so I’m especially pleased to have found it. Rice milk is a bit watery for my tastes but works if the price is right. The last case of rice milk I bought only cost $10. The Green Store is a store operated by a local group building Pacfic Gardens Cohousing Community in town. The process of building the Cohousing was long to get started and they needed help keeping the concept afloat so opened the store. Many of their products are near or just past their best before date which is why they are so cheap. Everything I’ve bought has been just as good- even better thanks to the price.

We also started swimming lessons again this week for Lily. We decided before the end of the last lessons that it may be worth repeating the level she was at. She didn’t really click with the teacher, who while is a nice guy is more suited to teaching rough and rowdy boys. Lily was a bit intimidated and was obviously not thriving in the class. Now with a summer between the classes she’s jumped in to this class with great enthusiasm. The teacher is wonderful in that she’s obviously aware of the children’s in the moment feelings and doesn’t use inauthentic praise to “motivate” them. She seems to really be able to hone in on what each child needs to help them feel comfortable to try new things.

Lily’s also going to try Highland Dancing finally. She’s going on Sunday to start. I’m as excited about that as she is.

  1. I love that brand of hemp milk, too! Except we get the pink one (sometimes I add a little rice milk if I want something sweeter).

    I love those lights!

This is the first time I’ve seen this brand and the store only has the one kind but I’m going to keep a look out for more. It’s really good. Rich and creamy! I’ll have to try adding a little rice milk to it. I imagine it would fit in just fine with rice milk being so mild yet sweet.
