Gratitude and Cake
Thank you so much to everyone for the birthday wishes! A new year turned for me without a hitch. I feel exactly the same as I did at 30… or 29… or…
We had a lovely party with friends with the usual over abundance of food and two chocolate cakes. I’d never suggest that any amount of chocolate cake would be too much though and we enjoyed it all.
Cam and Leif made oh-so-decadent Rebar Vegan Brownies and Lily made sparkly twist tie candles (that don’t light) to add to the ones we had on hand. She’s very adept with the matches and lights the candles for me!
It’s been getting cold here, especially with all the clear skies we’ve had lately. The morning fog keeps everything damp though and the resulting frost can be so beautiful.
My dad and his wife left this morning after a short but pleasant visit.
We ate a lot of really great food and more cake and chocolate than I needed, although I can’t say I regret it. My dad and I played many games of cards- I don’t know anyone else who’s willing to play as often as I am. They ran every day and we went for some fab walks to show them all the beauty Prince Rupert has to offer. I think they were surprised that it didn’t rain once while they were here.
