Just got back from a trip to the thrift shop for filling in some necessary clothing gaps. We came back with a few fun items as well.

Lily fell in love with this purple gown. I had started to make her a very similar gown but that project got put on hold, probably permanently. Leif pulled all my pins out and I’m finding it hard to be enthusiastic and interested in putting it back together so I can then sew it together. All the small and long pieces are now sitting in a drawer waiting for a decision to be made.

This one is so fun a twirly and will fit for some time. I think I’ll offer the unfinished dress on Freecycle now that we have this one.

We even found this mint condition faux fur wrap to go with it. It’s 32’C out right now and Lily doesn’t want to wear anything else!

We also found this beautiful sari top. It’s a tad big but she’ll grow into it.

We also bought a number of shirts, shorts and skirts for everyday wear. (This is what she gave me when I said “look normal”.)

For all you homelearners out there…… I found a really great copy of a book I already have. It’s in almost new condition, although a slightly older version and I thought I’d offer it here as a giveaway!

The Usborne Illustrated Dictionary of Science. The complete reference guide to Physics, Chemistry and Biology. A handy book to have around for so many different science-y questions.

If you’re interested in this book, leave a comment for a random draw. I’ll keep this open for one week. June 11th will be the draw. This giveaway is open to those in and outside of Canada.

A book like that could be invaluable when you have a 5 year old asking so many great questions and a mom who is thinking I don’t know! I need to get back to you on that!

Wow, you have thrift shop talent. Not everyone does, you know. Some people walk in and they just can’t see anything. But, clearly, you can. I feel like we should be sending you a giveaway, just for enduring those awful hives!
